In 2005 Chris Knight was short-listed for the Jerwood Applied Arts Prize in recognition of his contribution to metalwork.

Known for his functionally and visually provocative silverware, Chris is represented in many public and private collections including The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths', The Victoria & Albert Museum, The P&O Makower Trust, The Rabinovitch Collection, The Crafts Council, The Shipley Collection, Sheffield Assay Office, Sheffield Museums & Galleries, Birmingham City Museum, Aberdeen City Art Gallery, Norwich Castle Museum, The Musee Des Arts Decoratifs, The Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire and  St Augustine Church and St Mary's Church, New York. In 2007 Chris lead the Design Team responsible for the new St. Leger Trophy for Doncaster Racecourse.

Since 1997 he has diversified his practice into the design of Architectural and Public Artwork, commissions for which include: ‘Desire' - Blackpool South Shore Promenade, Car Park Grilles; Baltic Quays Gateshead, Service Bay Doors; Basingstoke, Security Grilles; Travel Inn, Sheffield, Car park Grilles; Midland Mainline, Sheffield, Car park Grilles; Sheffield Hallam University and ‘Corten Tree' Brewery Wharf, Leeds.

Chris Knight studied silversmithing and Jewellery at Sheffield City Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art. Between which he worked as a Designer Goldsmith in the USA. In 1992 he established a studio on London's' South Bank which he relocated to Sheffield in 1995.

Chris is a Freeman of The Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, past Chairman of the Association of British Designer Silversmiths and is currently a part-time Senior Lecturer in Metalwork and Jewellery at Sheffield Hallam University.
